The Chicago Bears need to fill these major holes

So far in this 2021 season, the Chicago Bears major needs seem to be two vital position groups: offensive line and quarterback. Obviously, there are a few other small holes like safety, inside linebacker, defensive lineman, and wide receiver, but these two position groups need to be addressed in the draft no matter what.

The Bears currently have their offensive line (outside of Germain Ifedi) locked up through next season, but that doesn’t mean it is good the way it is. Charles Leno Jr. is a perfect example of someone that should be replaced before next season either through the draft or free agency. Other offensive linemen for the Bears have been serviceable, but anyone of them could easily be upgraded.

As for the commonly discussed quarterback situation, Nick Foles likely is the quarterback next season. With that being the case, Mitchell Trubisky is expected to leave via free agency meaning Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy are tasked with drafting their quarterback of the future to study under Foles. My expectation is that Nagy will have a lot of say in the pick as it will be his quarterback and Pace basically guaranteed Nagy would be back next season.

This mock draft wasn’t conducted by any draft expert. I played the role of Ryan Pace as general manager picking each pick what I thought would best suit the team. This mock draft was conducted on the website NFL Mock Draft Database through their own “Mock Draft Simulator.” The order was conducted by current NFL standings which gave the Bears the 29th overall pick in the first round.
