The rollercoaster for Chicago Bears fans begins as expectations waver

2019 – Total bust

2019 was a major let down from 2018. Mitch’s numbers decreased in almost every statistic. Our defense looked like it was a different team. They were good but not the dominant force they were the year before. The Bears finished off the season 8-8 and things were looking downhill.

Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy were getting their heads called for. Most fans like myself were still depressed from last season’s missed kick from Cody Parkey. Something had to change. Half of Chicago wanted Mitch gone, while the others blamed it on Nagy. Ryan Pace had heard enough and traded for Jaguars quarterback “Nick Foles”.

2020- Bounce Back

The Bears started 2-1 but they didn’t look like a 2-1 team. That showed Week 4 when the winless Falcons were pounding on us. After three-and-half games of average football, Coach Nagy made the switch. Foles came in and had an unbelievable comeback. After 2 and a half seasons of being the starting QB, Mitch was benched in favor of Foles.

In the time he has played, Foles has thrown for 878 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. With also having a QB rating of 81.3.

Six weeks into the NFL 2020 season and the Chicago Bears are 5-1. They already have more than half their wins from 2019. The Bears got a huge win over Tom Brady’s Bucs. Then another great win against the Panthers.

Next. Teams that could trade for Mitch Trubisky. dark

The defense is looking great. Nick Foles is looking good… enough. The Bears need a quarterback that can make all the throws and come in the clutch. So far, Foles looks like he is going to fit that role.

It’s still very early in the year, but will Foles save Pace’s Job?
