What Madden 21 predicts for the Chicago Bears Week 7 matchup vs Rams?

The Chicago Bears are coming off of another win, this one against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6. It was not pretty, but they took care of business to improve to 5-1 and hold the first seed in the NFC North division.

Going into Week 7, they are taking on a tough Los Angeles Rams team on Monday Night Football in L.A. It is going to be a test for the Bears, but these teams have had some great battles in the last couple of years. So, before Monday, what did Madden 21 predict as a possible outcome of this game?

Unfortunately, the Madden simulation resulted in a Bears loss, with a final score of 24-21. It is always tough losing close games, and this one came down to a game-winning field goal by Sam Sloman. Here are some of the key stats for the game:

Chicago Bears:

  • Nick Foles – 23/32 completions, 245 yards, two touchdowns, one interception
  • David Montgomery – 16 carries, 84 yards rushing, four catches, 35 yards, one rushing touchdown
  • Allen Robinson – six catches, 88 yards, one touchdown
  • Darnell Mooney – three catches – 62 yards, one touchdown
  • Cole Kmet – four catches, 38 yards
  • Anthony Miller – two catches, 23 yards
  • Eddie Jackson – 11 tackles, one interception, two passes defended
  • Roquan Smith – 14 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss
  • Kyle Fuller – five tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery, three passes defended
  • Khalil Mack – six tackles, 2.5 sacks, two tackles for loss
  • Akiem Hicks – four tackles, one sack, three tackles for loss
  • Robert Quinn – two tackles, two sacks, forced fumble

Los Angeles Rams

  • Jared Goff – 28/39 completions, 267 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions
  • Darrell Henderson – 15 carries, 45 yards, three catches, 22 yards, one fumble lost
  • Cooper Kupp – eight catches, 103 yards, one touchdown
  • Van Jefferson – three catches, 43 yards, one touchdown
  • Robert Woods – four catches, 65 yards
  • Aaron Donald – five tackles, two sacks, one tackle for loss
  • Micah Kiser – 12 tackles, one tackle for loss
  • Jaylon Ramsey – six tackles, one interception
  • John Johnson – 11 tackles, one sack
  • Leonard Floyd – three tackles, one tackle for loss

What went wrong for the Chicago Bears in this simulation?

It was a solid game on paper for the Bears, who ran the ball well considering they were going up against Aaron Donald. David Montgomery going for 5.25 yards per carry is more than good against this run defense. The Bears moved the ball well, just not well enough. Nick Foles did throw another interception, which is something we hope he will stay away from in real life.

The Bears defense played very well again, accruing seven sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble that was recovered by Kyle Fuller. Unfortunately, the Rams did just enough to squeeze out a win, even though Jared Goff had a tough game with two interceptions.

The Bears run defense held the Rams to only 2.1 yards per carry as a team, which is exactly what this team needs to do in real life. The Buster Skrine vs. Cooper Kupp matchup was showcased, with Kupp taking this one after putting up a great game.

Offensive player of the game: David Montgomery

Defensive player of the game: Kyle Fuller

Let’s hope the Bears can do enough to slow down Jared Goff and their passing attack and put some pressure on him to force turnovers like the Madden simulation suggested should happen. The Bears should be able to show their might against the Rams offense, and they can only hope for the best against Aaron Donald and the Rams defense.

Next. The key for Chicago Bears to beat Jared Goff. dark

It will most likely be another nail biter, but I know the Bears can take this one. This game is going to be won in the trenches, so it should be super entertaining. Hopefully, Madden is wrong this week and the Bears get a win on Monday night.
