Ted Ginn needs to be cut
Looking back, I was an advocate for the Bears pursuing Ted Ginn at first. I personally liked the move, but now, he has been a problem.
At this point, Ginn already lost his job on offense to rookie sensation Darnell Mooney. When Tarik Cohen went down, Ginn took over Cohen as the teams punt returner. Tonight, Bears fans saw why that was an issue as he didn’t catch a single punt and let all of them trickle inside the 20-yard line. The Bears were pinned deep into their own territory on almost every drive.
The Bears already brought in return specialist Dwayne Harris. Harris is a great punt returner with a lot of experience and could be a great fill-in for Cohen. Harris has 180 returns, gained 1,825 yards, and scored four return touchdowns over his career.
The 33-year-old return specialist is clearly aging, but he still might have some juice left in him. He could help them immediately. Plus, Ginn is basically a waste of a roster spot at this point.
