Matt Nagy needs to hand off the playcalling

Another hot topic among Bears’ fans is how everyone feels about Matt Nagy. Personally, I believe he’s overrated.

Nagy was brought in for three reasons: to turn the Bears into an offensive powerhouse, to mentor/mold young quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, and to make the Bears great again. How well has he done? They made the playoffs his first year here, but they’ve never had a good offense and he failed with Trubisky.

In addition to those failures, his shortcomings as a play-caller have been infuriating. Nagy constantly kills drives with his bad play calls and his failure to establish a rhythm. They’ve never been able to establish the run under him as well.

Nagy needs to hand off the playcalling efforts. Whether he gives it to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor or quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, he needs to give it up. Clearly, his calls and his timing on plays are not working. He is fine for now as a head coach, but that for sure needs to change immediately.

More than likely, none of these moves will happen, but we can only dream that something happens. Clearly, this offense is broken and needs some fixing, so the Bears need to fix it.
