The most obvious choice to be the Chicago Bears 2021 starter is Nick Foles

Although Nick Foles has not looked great, as long as Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace remain in the driver’s seat in 2021, Nick Foles will probably be here too. Foles is technically under contract for 2021 but does have that option to void his contract depending on certain factors. We do not know what those factors entail, but I have a feeling he will remain here unless something crazy happens.

As a journeyman quarterback, I do not see Foles wanting to play for yet another team in 2021. As the Mitch Trubisky experiment seems to be over, I see Foles as a bridge quarterback for a future rookie. Will that rookie be selected in 2021? We better hope so, even if he’s not a first-rounder.

Could a full season, plus a full offseason spark some chemistry between Foles and Matt Nagy? I am not sure what could change as we have seen the offense look nearly identical with Foles under center as we did Trubisky. Inconsistent play and the lack of offensive production and points could lead to not only a new quarterback in 2021 but also maybe a new Head Coach and General Manager. No matter if Foles is the starter in 2021, the Bears will need a Plan B behind him.
