Kevin Zeitler, OG, New York Giants

Kevin Zeitler may be the best situation for the Bears in terms of getting a new guard. Mack would be perfect as a center, but Zeitler is a star at the guard position. Zeitler is only 30 years old and has two years remaining on his contract. He would require a major cap hit, but he is worth the price.

The Giants season is essentially over as they are last in the weakest division in football with a record of 1-6. They could be looking to offload their talent as they have already with edge rusher Markus Golden. Additionally, the Giants seem to have Golden Tate on the trade block.

Obviously, with Zeitler’s age, he isn’t their long-term answer at guard so having him on the roster right now is pointless. They should be looking to see what they have in their young players.

The compensation for Zeitler is questionable as well. He is having the worst year of his career by far (that could have to do with Jason Garrett‘s scheme) and he is only getting older. They might have to give up a third-round pick for him.
