The Chicago Bears must feed off the anger of Monday’s loss to the Rams

The Chicago Bears vs Saints game is to be played at 3:25pm Sunday afternoon in Soldier Field should reveal a lot about this team. The big question is how will they respond after getting embarrassed by the Rams on Monday Night Football. Will they rise to the occasion or descend into a losing streak?

It is quite possible the Bears will respond with a strong game similar to how the Rams responded to a tough loss. The Rams got embarrassed by the 49ers the week before the Rams played the Bears. Now its the Bears turn to turn it around. Matt Nagy’s strength as a head coach is his motivational skills. It seems likely he will be able to keep the flames of their anger stoked for six days going into the Saints game. With that in mind expect the unexpected in this faceoff.

Anger over that loss is not the only anger floating around Halas Hall this week. Nagy has to be pretty ticked off about the groundswell from the Bears fans and media telling him he should give up his play-calling duties on offense. The best thing that could happen to the Chicago Bears is if Nagy took some of his own anger and directed it at his offensive line.

The guys on the offensive line need to be held accountable by their head coach for the steep decline of their performances these last few weeks. This is not Nagy’s strength but it is what his team needs of him as their head coach to get the Bears in the best frame of mind to take on a talented Saints team. The Saints have some key injuries and they can be beaten if the Bears put together a solid 60 minutes of good football.
