5 disappointments halfway through Chicago Bears season
1. Quarterback play
The fact of the matter is that if you are a Mitch Trubisky fan, you are disappointed. He had the starting job and did little to inspire confidence in his team. If you are a Nick Foles fan you are disappointed too, though. He has made just as many laughable mistakes as he has game-winning type plays, and his lack of mobility behind this line is eye-opening.
The reality is that neither has lived up to expectations. When Trubisky saw the field, fans and media clamored for Foles. On Sunday, the calls for Trubisky from the same group began to come up.
As the season is starting to pass it is clear that neither is the answer. Mitch could do that, and Foles cannot, or Foles could have made that pass, what was Mitch thinking have been the calls all season. The reality is that Foles would not have done better to start, and Trubisky would not have changed outcomes in the losses.
The Bears are in a tough spot where they are good enough to win 5 or more games but are not good enough to take advantage of their record. They are where no team wants to be, and they are going to have a tough time getting out of that situation.
