The Chicago Bears honestly need help at the wide receiver spot too
If the Chicago Bears are looking for a veteran presence that can make a bigger impact than Ted Ginn, Jr., then Ryan Pace should call and see what the Giants want for Golden Tate. Tate has been rumored to be on the trade block and the Chicago Bears would be wise to consider him.
At 32 years old, Tate is not the player he once was in Seattle. His 1,000-plus yard seasons are behind him, but he could still add value to this wide receiver room. After the incident that took place yesterday involving Javon Wims, I am not sure how much longer Wims will be in a Bears uniform. Hearing what transpired prior to his decisions, I understand why Wims reacted the way he did, but that is still unacceptable and I would still cut him.
Releasing Wims could create the space needed for Tate too. Tate has only been targeted 26 times this year. He has caught 20 of those balls for 195 yards and one touchdown. Last year though, Tate finished with over 600 yards and six touchdowns. He would make a good fourth or fifth option on this team. Not to mention with all of Matt Nagy’s personnel packages, Tate could make himself useful by helping Anthony Miller become a more consistent receiver.
