Moving on from Tashaun Gipson could be ideal
Selling off the likes of Khalil Mack would obviously bring in some solid draft capital, but the Chicago Bears would not get enough in return for Mack in my opinion. This is why these other players are okay to be traded and should not completely ruin the Chicago Bears’ future come 2021.
This is why moving on from Tashaun Gipson might be a strong move for Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears. Gipson signed a one-year deal with the Bears this offseason and why not get what you can for him? He has played fairly well in this defense. He has two interceptions (should have had a third versus the Saints last week) but has been a slight liability at times.
His trade value is probably not great, but a team looking for a safety might be willing to throw a fifth-rounder in the Bears direction. Remember, this is all based on the idea this team knows it’s 2020 outcome is not going to end well. This is based on the fan perspective that we know the defense is great, but the offense plain stinks. Without a balance, this team will never have a chance at anything great. Selling off a few assets for the future might be an ideal shift in strategy.
