Chicago Bears: With their second loss in two weeks, is it time to panic?
By Nathan Burns
Now the Chicago Bears defense
First thing is first. Where has Robert Quinn been? Ryan Pace decided not to re-sign Leanord Floyd but instead chose to sign edge rusher Robert Quinn. Floyd has been having a career year for the Rams, while Quinn has been a complete bust for the Bears. The icing on the cake was when The Bears faced the Rams two weeks ago. Leonard Floyd had two sacks against the Bears, which is more than Quinn has had all year.
I believe the Bears defense has been promising this season. Despite the Bears countless penalties and inconsistencies from Quinn, they currently rank number one in red-zone D. They may give up big plays but the Bears are very disciplined when it comes to protecting the endzone.
A big part of their success has been because of Eddie Jackson and Kyle Fuller. The Bears duo has been playing outstanding even if the statistics don’t show it. Jackson has had two pick-sixes taken away, due to penalties. Kyle Fuller has been lights out yet leads the NFL in penalties.
This week, the Bears face a Titans team that shouldn’t have lost to the Bengals. Both teams are desperate for a win. If the Bears lose, it’s hard to imagine Nagy being in command for much longer.
Looking at this team, with the disappearing and disappointing offensive line, it still might be too early to panic. The team’s running back is better than many think and the defense has been and will continue to be fantastic. As long as the team does not follow Javon Wims’ example, the Chicago Bears will be in the hunt for the playoffs.
Should we panic yet? The answer is somewhere in the middle, unfortunately. This team could find themselves squeaking into the playoffs or once again on the outside looking in.
