Remember when Anthony Gordon was linked to the Chicago Bears?
Many Chicago Bears fans, including myself, wanted to see the Chicago Bears draft Anthony Gordon late in the 2020 NFL Draft. Gordon went undrafted and signed with the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. Gordon did not make the team and is currently a free agent.
Many thought Gordon was a better prospect than the quarterback who came before him from Washington State, Gardner Minshew. In fact, if you compare their college stats, Gordon produced more than Minshew. In Minshew’s last season before being drafted, he completed 70.7 of his passes for 4,779 yards, 38 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. That is 367 yards per game.
Gordon topped that though by completing 71.6 percent of his passes for 5,579 yards, 48 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The interceptions were a bit of a problem as Gordon threw three touchdowns to every interception, while Minshew threw 4.2 touchdowns to every interception. However, Gordon did gain 429 yards per game. Why he’s not on an NFL active roster is crazy to me. The Bears passed on him in the draft, but the team should kick the tires now.
