5 rookie OL Chicago Bears could have drafted
3. Solomon Kindley
To be fair to the Chicago Bears, Kindley went well after pick 50, and well before their next pick. Still, when a team trades future draft capital for Trevis Gipson, you have to debate why they did not trade future draft capital to help the line.
Similar to Onwenu from Michigan, Kindley was a clear cut prospect from Georgia. It was obvious what he did. He was a power run blocker who ran people over. He is another player we highlighted pre-draft as well.
Kindley has started every week for the Miami Dolphins at right guard. To be fair to Chicago, Germain Ifedi has been fine at right guard. However, Kindley played left guard at Georgia. Had they drafted him, he may not have started every game. However, he clearly would have been needed.
Of course, he has helped Miami take huge leaps forward on offense. He has been successful in the run game, and would have been an upgrade over Rashaad Coward when James Daniels went down. If this was a player we were talking about, the Bears had to have had eyes on him.
