The Chicago Bears fan base wants everybody fired.

The Chicago Bears fan base is exhausting. But we all love the same team, so it is what it is. The biggest concern I have for some of our brothers is, do they set themselves up for failure in the beginning. Most Chicago Bears coverage had this team finishing the season around 9-7 or 10-6. What changed?

The Chicago Bears won three games to start the season. Just about every game won was in comeback fashion. The Chicago Bears played the Loins, Giants, and Falcons. The fan base erupted. A lot of trash talk was going around about how the Bears would take the division. Did the fan base forget their early season predictions?

Reality set in when the team lost to the Indianapolis Colts. Maybe it was the media or the coach who gave them faith because of Nick Foles‘ first game as the team’s starter after they benched Mitch Trubisky. After barely defeating the goat (Tom Brady) and taking it to the Panthers, the Chicago Bears fan base got right back on that high horse.

Claiming that this Bears team is the best in the NFC North. They had lost track of their early predictions yet again of 10-6 or 9-7. What can you do? The Chicago Bears were entering the toughest part of their schedule that doesn’t include the divisional opponents.

A three-game slide to the Rams, Saints, and Titan happened. Now the Chicago Bears fans base flipped to the other end of the spectrum, and they sound as the team is only going to win five games. In their defense, that is possible, but not likely.  I was shocked that the Bears lost to the Titans, but I had them losing to the Buccaneers, so I am still at the same point.

Now the Chicago Bears are 5-4. That is about right. The Bears should split or lose out to the Packers, sweep the Lions, split with Vikings, and beat both the Texans and Jaguars. That would give the Bears an ending record of… you guessed it, 9-7 or 10-6.

Maybe us Chicago Bear fans need to stop talking stuff to NFC North fans or be realistic. The Chicago Bears are right on pace, almost game for game with their record. Sure, the offense has been awful, but if I weren’t awful, they would have a shot at winning games they ultimately shouldn’t.

The reality is the Bears are not better than the Rams, Saints, Bucs, or Colts. They aren’t, and I am sorry if the truth hurts. They are better than the Titans, who they lost to, but any team can win any given Sunday.
