Do the Chicago Bears have a DROY candidate?

No. 2 – Jaylon Johnson

Ryan Pace took Jaylon Johnson with the 50th overall pick in the 2020 draft. Second round players have expectations, but I don’t think anyone expected this great of an impact from the Bears rookie. Johnson has been extremely efficient, playing 99 percent of snaps. He also has the second-most passes deflected, in the entire NFL.

In the last couple of years, the Bears hadn’t had a solidified CB2. They have had a solid CB1 in Kyle Fuller but needed to get him help. With the season already half over, Johnson has proved he has what it take to be an elite corner. He has been the Robin to Kyle Fuller’s Batman. Johnson has been playing like anything but a rookie, and if he keeps his play up, he will be a lock for the all-rookie team and push for Defensive-Rookie-of-the-Year votes.

No. 1 – Cairo Santos

What’s the old saying? If you don’t succeed, try try again. Well, that has worked out for Bears kicker Cairo Santos. After cutting him in 2017, Ryan Pace gave the 7-year veteran another chance for the 2020 season.

Next. Time for a change. dark

The second stint with the team has worked out very well. Santos is 15/17 on the year and has made every extra point he has attempted. He is 10/10 kicking inside the 40 and has made his last 11 kicks in a row. The Bears kicker also made his career-long field goal against the Panthers(55yrds). After countless seasons of missed kicks and heartbreaks, the Bears look like they finally found their guy.
