Chicago Bears: 4 Decisions George McCaskey must make after loss to Vikings
The Chicago Bears are in a downward spiral and things must change soon
Last night was another embarrassment. This Chicago Bears offense is a joke and right now the biggest reason for this is a combination of Ryan Pace neglecting the offensive line and injuries. Can I also say that I am sick and tired of the Rashaad Coward experiment? I am sure he’s a good guy, but he does not deserve to be starting, or even a direct backup on an NFL team.
Cornelius Lucas is having a career year for the Washington Football Team while the Chicago Bears continue to struggle with simple blocking assignments. This has been more than just a little tough to watch. The Bears’ offense is second to only the New York Jets in net yards per game. They are eighth-worst in net passing yards and dead last in net rushing yards. The team is also second to last in points scored per game and it would be worse if not for special teams and defensive scores.
At this point in the season, we know this team is not a playoff contender. Right now, they are still in the thick of things and second in the NFC North, but this team is a pretender. I have had my Bear Goggles On too tight lately and I did not want to admit it to myself. Wins are hard to come by in the NFL and at 5-1 I thought this team would be a playoff team. Although I did not believe them to be Super Bowl bound, I was hopeful the offense would find its way before the playoffs started.
Instead, this team has taken multiple steps backward. The offense once again did not score a touchdown. The offense only attributed for six points. That’s two field goals. At least Cairo Santos has been a breath of fresh air. There are positives about this team, but most are on defense. Right now, George McCaskey (also part of the problem but not going anywhere) must wake up this morning and remain angry. I hope his mother (Virginia) let him have it last night.
They say that people should sleep on things. They say people should not make rash decisions and to not make a decision while still going through heightened emotions. Guess what, George McCaskey needs to do the opposite and he needs to do the opposite today.
