George McCaskey must fire Chicago Bears, President Ted Phillips

While we are at it, George McCaskey needs to make the decision today to also remove Ted Phillips from the picture. He has three choices he can make here. One, he can make the moves necessary to demote Phillips, he can make the moves necessary to fire Phillips, or he can allow Phillips to keep his title, but strip him of all football operation responsibilities.

I have heard rumors that Phillips does well with the contract side of things and that is how he was promoted, to begin with. Maybe George McCaskey should demote him to Director of Finance once again? I do like that the McCaskeys looked beyond their own family in naming a President and CEO, but Phillips has been in place since 1999 and the Bears have had very little success during his tenure. After more than 20 years at the helm, I think it is time to look elsewhere once again.

We cannot keep calling for the heads of general managers and head coaches of this team while Phillips remains in place. Phillips, like Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy, must not be around come the start of 2021 and McCaskey needs to make that decision here and today, no matter the outcome of the rest of the season.
