The Chicago Bears need improved play from the following players

Sitting at 3-1 after four games, we listed five players that still needed to improve, knowing that there was room to grow. Unfortunately for the Chicago Bears, a four-game losing streak was the result of a team not improving enough from that start. While many fans have officially moved onto the NFL draft, the Chicago Bears are still in the playoff hunt, and improved play could make the end of the season interesting.

Who are five players the Chicago Bears need to get more from?

5. Robert Quinn

This is not going to be a post dedicated to many defenders, and that is no surprise to Bears fans. However, it is pretty clear through 10 games that Robert Quinn has been a pretty big disappointment. Quinn has played just 44% of the teams’ defensive snaps so far this year.

While fans will say an injury hurt his snap counts, he has hit over 50% in just four games. To be fair, the last three games saw Quinn over that mark. Still, he hit 51%, 75%, and 52% of the snaps. In most games, he just barely got over the halfway line.

Beyond that, Quinn has been unproductive. He gives next to nothing against the run and does not play in coverage. On top of that, he has 14 pressures on 209 pass-rush snaps according to PFF. Barkevious Mingo has 12 pressures on 111 pass-rush snaps.

Quinn is not playing enough, he is doing nothing against the run, and has been below the line against the pass. His season has been a failure to date. Perhaps in a season where an injury started things, along with a new team and plan it will take time. With that in mind, if he does not perform after the bye week, it is not going to happen in 2020.
