The Chicago Bears need to make some changes

After beginning the season 5-1 with playoff aspirations, the Chicago Bears crashed down to earth dropping four in a row to fall to 5-5. They thankfully have the bye week now to regroup and correct their horrid streak.

There is plenty of blame to go around for this losing streak the Bears are currently going on. You could say the Bears have struggled to stay healthy as Alex Bars had to play center for the first time in his career (both college and NFL) due to three starting linemen injuries and backup center Sam Mustipher getting hurt as well.

More blame can go to the quarterback position as Nick Foles has not been the guy everyone thought he would be. Fans ignored his recent history with the Jaguars and expected him to be Super Bowl MVP Foles. They were poorly mistaken as Foles now has a 2-5 record for the Bears as the starter.

Additionally, we can blame the reason behind most of the issues: head coach Matt Nagy. From his questionable scheme to his horrible playcalling, Nagy hasn’t shown much as to why he should be brought back next season. He finally handed off playcalling after being called out too many times for it, but the Bears are still undisciplined and the scheme has remained the same.

So, what can the Bears do? Will anything even help? If these three changes happen, maybe something can change in this Bears team (particularly offense) and spark a potential playoff run. Or, the Bears fall flat on their face again with an 8-8 record and continue in their purgatory of mediocrity.
