Chicago Bears: Three dream replacements for Matt Nagy
By Cody Young
Pat Fitzgerald would be a great fit for this current Chicago Bears team
Number 3: Pat Fitzgerald
I feel that Pat Fitzgerald would not only be a great fit for this team but would also be a popular choice. Pat Fitzgerald was hired to be the head coach at Northwestern University, all the way back in 2006.
It took him a little while but he slowly turned the program into a respectable team. In 2012 he lead the team to a winning record and even had them ranked as high as 17th. NU has been a very proud program and is no longer considered an easy win when they are on the schedule.
From 2015 to 2018 Northwestern had a winning record and won three out of four bowl games. They had a poor season in 2019 but have already jumped out to a 5-0 record in this truncated NCAA season.
Pat Fitzgerald is someone who has garnered some interest to be a coach at the pro level in recent years. It’s been well documented that he does love his job at NU, he also played there in his college days which I’m sure is a big reason why as well.
It may be tough to pry him away from Northwestern but he may have an interest in the Chicago Bears job and I feel many fans would welcome him aboard.
