Have you seen how many Chicago Bears are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Throughout that historic timeframe, the Chicago Bears have also been blessed by inducting the most players into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Names like Walter Payton, Sid Luckman, Mike Ditka, Dan Hampton, Gale Sayers, Jimbo Covert, Richard Dent, Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary and most recently Brian Urlacher are all included in Canton, Ohio while wearing a Bears uniform.

Right now, many are pounding the table for more Chicago Bears to make the Hall of Fame too. Devin Hester to me should be a lock, but I also think Charles “Peanut” Tillman should be included too. The way he has changed the game from a fumble perspective and paired with his coverage skills against greats like Randy Moss and Calvin “Megatron” Johnson should be enough to put him in eventually. He’s not a first-ballot guy, but he should eventually make his way in.

Matt Forte is close on my list but falls short due to his lack of touchdowns throughout his career. Just like the championships, the fact that the number of players to receive a gold jacket while representing the Chicago Bears organization has slowed down to a crawl is frustrating. The recency bias once again makes fans forget how lucky we are to cheer on a team with such greatness throughout its history. Let’s remember it today on Thanksgiving.
