The Chicago Bears cannot let Ryan Pace lead another offseason

The Chicago Bears five-game losing streak is a major disappointment for any fan. However, while Matt Nagy and Mitch Trubisky are front and center to take the blame, behind the scenes is Ryan Pace, who may be most guilty of all. Ryan Pace went all-in on his 2020 offseason to make the Bears better and fell flat on his face.

The Bears are going to make changes this offseason and Ryan Pace needs to be the first one to go. The following five reasons are why Ryan Pace cannot be trusted anymore.

5. No attention to the offensive line

To be fair to Ryan Pace, the Chicago Bears top two offensive lineman on paper are James Daniels and Cody Whitehair, two draft picks. However, that is exactly why Pace is in this spot as well. Two draft picks.

Ryan Pace has done the stone minimum to fix the offensive line. After the 2018 season, we wrote that the offensive line depth is not a guarantee. However, Pace did nothing and was surprised that once again Kyle Long got injured. After 2019, Pace watched what we all did and saw that the offensive line was a huge issue. What did he do?

He signed a bust right tackle in Germain Ifedi and prayed that a position change would be impactful. Beyond a speculative add to fix the right guard, Pace waited until the seventh round to add two developmental linemen who are nowhere ready to see an NFL field.

Pace passed over multiple NFL starters to draft Trevis Gipson, who remains inactive. Anyone with eyes could see the offensive line was weak, but Pace put a tiny bandaid over it and moved on. The James Daniels injury is unfortunate, but the Bears offensive line falling apart the second he went down is expected.
