Allen Robinson will likely not be on the Chicago Bears next season

After the humiliating loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, Allen Robinson once again took it to Twitter to express his disinterest in the Chicago Bears. From replying to multiple tweets to liking tweets that discussed him joining other teams, it is to no surprise he is doing this.

After the Bears failed to have contract discussions with him and even when they did, they stalled, Allen Robinson went to social media taking any and all things Chicago Bears related out of his bios and pictures. His agent additionally constantly goes on to Twitter as well to express his feelings.

All in all, it is a mess. Allen Robinson should have been extended awhile ago and he isn’t handling this issue the best way possible as well. It is best if both parties just part ways and move on after this season. The Bears may just let him walk, or they may franchise tag him before trading him for some draft capital to get something out of him.

With Allen Robinson gone, this leaves the Bears without a true ‘X’ wide receiver as a big-bodied, jump ball wide receiver. Javon Wims is the next player in line on the Bears’ depth chart to step in for Allen Robinson if he leaves, but he is not ready to take over as a starter and may not have the talent to do so as well. The Bears will have a solid receiving core still, but no true alpha wide receiver. Both Darnell Mooney and Anthony Miller have excelled in limited roles.

Additionally, they have former fourth-round pick Riley Ridley who has seen his role increase in the last few weeks. He has shown some promise as well, but the Bears need more than just promise. They need an alpha, big-bodied ‘X’ wide receiver.
