2. Germain Ifedi

Is Germain Ifedi done playing guard? Is he done playing guard this year, or for the rest of his career? Both are fair questions. Ifedi was always a confusing signing. Sure, he was cheap and worth a shot. What was confusing was that there was little to no backup plan.

Ifedi has not been a disaster, but he has done little to improve the line and has been regressing in recent weeks. The Chicago Bears moved him to right tackle last week, and while he did not play well, the entire line did.

The Chicago Bears are likely to keep their rotation from the Green Bay Packers game moving forward. That is good for Ifedi in most ways. It brings him back to right tackle, where he spent most of his time in Seattle.

It also gives him a chance to cash in. Tackle money is bigger than guard money. Ifedi is a free agent this offseason. If he can string together five good games at tackle, he can convince a GM to pay him tackle money for a one or two year deal. If he struggles, he very well may not see an offer until after the draft. There is a lot on the line for Germain Ifedi.
