Another NFL analyst Louis Riddick could be the answer for the Chicago Bears

In a way, it seems that Louis Riddick has been vying for the Chicago Bears general manager job for a little while now. He has been very vocal in his critiquing of Ryan Pace, Matt Nagy and Mitch Trubisky. Many Bears fans would love to see Riddick get the call and step in as the Chicago Bears’ new general manager.

Riddick is probably not my first choice, but I would not have a problem with him taking over the role either. He is a solid analyst at ESPN and has NFL front office experience. Riddick was a scout for both Washington and Philadelphia.

However, before he was a scout, Riddick was a safety in the NFL. He played for seven years on various teams such as the Falcons, Browns and Raiders. He hung up his cleats after the 1998 season. He followed up his career by working his way up from being a scout to becoming Director of Pro Personnel. He had the same career path for both Washington and Philadelphia before joining ESPN as an analyst. He has not been a part of an NFL organization since.

The Chicago Bears could be the team to give him that opportunity. Not to mention, he would be an excellent minority hire — something the NFL is trying to push more into the spotlight.
