Mitch Trubisky continues to have poor mechanics due to poor footwork

Mitch Trubisky hired a QB expert in the offseason to help fix his mechanics. He lost his starting job mid-game in the third game of the season against the Falcons because he missed a wide-open pass target on a long pass for like the umpteenth time. Once again this was because of his poor mechanics. In spite of efforts to fix his footwork, somehow, someway, in 2020 not only has Trubisky’s mechanics stayed bad but they appear to be worse than they were in 2019.

In 2020, before he got benched as well as in his last game against the Packers, Trubisky made some throws while jumping off his back foot. He regularly makes throws off his back foot, without taking a small step forward with his feet too wide apart. He will also swing his back foot around like a gate. You cannot do any one of these things and be consistently accurate passing a football.

Dave Ragone, Trubisky’s quarterbacks coach for three years and who is now the Bears passing game coordinator should be fired immediately for this. Nagy should be fired for this. Bill Lazor should have his butt reamed out for this. Mitch Trubisky will be held accountable for this by, very likely, never getting another chance to be an NFL starter.

However, that Mitch Trubisky’s footwork has gotten worse in his fourth year as a Bears quarterback is as unprofessional a collective coaching job as there ever has been in the NFL. If there was a legal court for these matters, Bears fans could sue for criminal negligence as well as grievances of cruel and unusual punishment toward them for not doing everything possible to fix Trubisky’s throwing mechanics.
