Chicago Bears make the playoffs

The first scenario that is possible for the Bears is that they make the playoffs. Actually, this isn’t as crazy as that sounds. As it stands, if every team wins by their opponents’ record, the Bears are projected to make the playoffs. Basically, the Bears are supposed to beat teams with a worse record than them and that would make them finish at 9-7 sneaking into the playoffs.

Although it is possible, it doesn’t mean it is likely. The Bears do have a weak remaining schedule facing four teams with a losing record and the Green Bay Packers, but none of them will be pushovers. The Jaguars have played many teams tough, the Texans have Deshaun Watson, the Lions have a new coach, and the Bears already lost to the Vikings.

If this happens, this likely saves the job of not only Matt Nagy, but also Ryan Pace. This is bittersweet as some people, including me, would like to see Nagy out of Halas Hall. But, if Nagy has the power to unite his team and make this run, maybe he should be here a little longer.

This could also earn Trubisky another contract. He could earn a cheap one-to-two year deal to stay while the Bears draft another quarterback likely. The Bears would likely get the 19th overall pick in the first round of the draft likely taking them out of contention for the top quarterbacks. This isn’t a great scenario, but who wouldn’t want to see the Bears in the playoffs?
