Chicago Bears: 5 Landing spots for Mitch Trubisky in free agency

Bill Belichick and Mitch Trubisky take back over the AFC East
No. 5 – New England Patriots
The Buffalo Bills have made it clear that they’re the best team in the AFC East. It’s no longer the Patriots, despite a resurgent defense that just shut out the Los Angeles Chargers, 45-0. Cam Newton isn’t the long-term answer and perhaps Trubisky isn’t either, but Belichick has already helped create one future Hall of Fame quarterback. This isn’t saying Trubisky is the next Tom Brady, but New England is going to have to do something at quarterback during the offseason if they decide not to resign Newton.
The team is still pushing for a playoff spot and sitting third in the division. Even if they wanted to draft a quarterback it wouldn’t be until the back half of the draft. Despite all of the injuries and players that have opted out this season due to COVID-19 concerns, the Patriots are still one of the league’s best defenses.
If they can win games with Newton throwing for less than 100 yards then they can find a way with Trubisky. The Patriots would be higher on this list had the organization not been so willing to roll out Jarrett Stidham as the team’s starter before signing Newton, so for now, they’re at No. 5.
