Chicago Bears: Counting down the top-five plays heading into Week 14
By Braden Fogal
Mitch Trubisky connects with WR Anthony Miller on a go-ahead touchdown
If you thought that for some reason Mitch Trubisky wouldn’t find his way onto this list then you are sadly mistaken. We won’t talk about the fact that the Bears should have lost this game, but in the same breath, thank you, D’Andre Swift, I know there will be many games in your career for you to resurrect that dropped touchdown pass against Chicago.
This specific play, right here, is everything that Bears fans have ever wanted from Trubisky. Step back, locate a receiver and connect on an absolute rope to give us the lead late in the game against a divisional rival. Anthony Miller with the hands too.

I mean, for someone that was receiving Antonio Brown comparisons out of the draft this is the closest resemblance Bears fans have seen. Miller was even nice enough to look down upon his defender after scoring, probably to congratulate him on his efforts, just before celebrating with his teammates.
This was really good coverage from Detroit’s cornerback Tony McRae after further review. Miller entered the Week 1 matchup with a small sample size of productive games when facing the Lions, but unfortunately, that fell short in Week 13 when Miller tallied just five catches for 56 yards against them. I rank this play heavily on the clutch factor of Trubisky and Miller. Bears fans rarely see plays like this happen, so that’s why it’s at No. 2 with one more to go.
