Cole Kmet is way too young for the Bears to give up on

After not having a first-round pick for the second year in a row, since Ryan Pace just loves to trade them away, the Chicago Bears chose to select Cole Kmet with the first of their two second-round picks.

Cole Kmet, for the most part, was considered the best TE prospect in the draft, and Kmet being from Illinois made for a perfect fit. Cole was struggling to get on the field but in recent weeks has been getting a lot more playing time. Since Bill Lazor took over the play-calling the Bears have really been using Kmet a lot more.

It’s been well documented that Kmet has had quite a bit of rookie struggles but TE is one of the hardest positions to adapt to at the pro-level. There’s no reason to give up on Cole Kmet just yet, the former Fighting Irishman was very productive at Notre Dame.

Not only is Cole Kmet just getting started with his professional career, but Chicago also has no other options right now at TE. Jimmy Graham was one of the worst signings by any team in my opinion, and yes he gave some decent production early on but he was never going to be a long-term answer for this team. Something Cole was drafted to be.
