Tylan Wallace. 856. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. Oklahoma State. 2. player

Just as Ryan Pace made a trade up for Darnell Mooney, whoever is running things in 2021 is moving up to take another wide receiver. This time, the receiver is more of an Allen Robinson replacement in Tylan Wallace.

Wallace is a top-100 player and the Chicago Bears did not have a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. I was able to trade the Bears’ fifth-round pick (153 overall) and a sixth-round pick (190 overall) to the Seahawks to move up into the fourth round at 126th overall.

This team needs offensive talent and grabbing a guy like Wallace at this point in the draft can help soften the blow of likely losing Allen Robinson in the offseason. Wallace is 6’0″ and 190 pounds. He is not a speed guy like Mooney, but rather a possession type receiver with great hands. His lack of top speed does not stop him from getting yards-after-the-catch though. Wallace does a great job positioning his body while making contested catches that allows him to gain more yards.

Wallace is also not afraid to take on or even make contact to gain a few extra yards. He’s dealing with a knee injury right now, but that should not be a reason to shy away from him come 2021. By adding Wallace and letting Robinson walk, the team will need to bring in a strong free-agent wide receiver. The wide receiver group will likely look like the free-agent acquisition, Anthony Miller, Darnell Mooney, Riley Ridley and Tylan Wallace. Not great, but certainly solid.
