Chicago Bears: Madden 21 simulation for Week 14 versus Texans
What does Madden 21 predict for Week 14 matchup between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans?
Not much needs to be said about last week. Madden 21 was wrong when it predicted the Chicago Bears would be the Detroit Lions, and we all know how that game went down. The Bears need to win out to have any hopes of still making the playoffs, and it starts with beating the Houston Texans in a noon game at Soldier Field.
We simulated the game in Madden 21 to predict a possible outcome. This one had the Bears falling to Deshaun Watson and the Texans by a score of 24-17. The sim has been wrong the last few weeks, so lets hope it is wrong again this week. Here are some key stats for the game:
Chicago Bears:
- Mitchell Trubisky – 24/35 completions, 258 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, four carries, 33 yards
- David Montgomery – 15 carries, 103 yards, one touchdown, four catches, 21 yards, one touchdown
- Allen Robinson – six catches, 78 yards
- Cole Kmet – five catches, 52 yards
- Robert Quinn – six tackles, two sacks
- Khalil Mack – eight tackles, one sack
- Bilal Nichols – three tackles, one sack
- Roquan Smith – fifteen tackles, two tackles for loss
- Kyle Fuller – nine tackles, one interception
Houston Texans
- Deshaun Watson – 26/33 completions, 276 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, six carries, 43 yards
- Duke Johnson Jr. – 11 carries, 43 yards, three catches, 22 yards
- Brandin Cooks – nine catches, 104 yards, one touchdown
- Keke Coutee – six catches, 71 yards, one touchdown
- Jordan Akins – four catches, 43 yards, one touchdown
- J.J. Watt – seven tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss
- Zach Cunningham – eleven tackles, one interception, two tackles for loss
- Justin Reid – nine tackles, one interception
Although the Bears were able to bring Deshaun Watson down seven times, their offense just could not produce enough against a lackluster Houston defense. The Bears defense played well, but were not able to contain Watson and the Houston offense. The Bears need a rebound game in real life after their defense has been torn apart the last few weeks.
David Montgomery had a career game with two touchdowns and over 100 yards rushing. The Bears have found some recent success feeding him the ball, and as the Madden simulation suggests, they should continue to find ways to get him involved in the offense, especially if the passing game struggles like it did in this simulation.
Although the Texans do not have the best record, they still have a potent offense and plenty of playmakers on defense. The Bears will need a great effort to come out with a necessary win to stay in the playoff picture.
