David Montgomery has been playing great football for the Bears recently.

For the third week in a row, David Montgomery has put on a great performance going over 100 yards from scrimmage in all three games. Running-backs can very much end up being a product of their environments and David Montgomery has been running behind a weak offensive line for the better part of two years.

These past three games have shown what Ryan Pace and the Bears loved when they traded up to draft Montgomery with their first pick in last year’s draft. Montgomery, at times, has been criticized for his lack of production and explosiveness. He showed how explosive he can be in this offense when he took his first handoff of the game 80 yards for a Bears touchdown.

Montgomery really looks to be hitting his stride right now, possibly putting together his best three-game stretch in the young running-backs career. Montgomery has been one of the best backs in the league in 2020, though his volume numbers may not be showing it, he is making the best of the hand he was dealt.

The Bears have a really solid half-back in David Montgomery, the offensive line has looked a lot better in recent weeks and it’s no surprise that David has been playing his best football over that time as well. If the line can keep it up to finish the season, expect Montgomery to play even better and receive more carries.
