Worst draft pick the Chicago Bears should end up with

Many fans will tell you they want the Chicago Bears to lose out and get the best draft pick available in 2021. Although it would be great to see the team have another high draft pick, I’d prefer to enjoy the next few weeks of the season followed by a playoff appearance or two.

The worst possible outcome in regards to their slotted draft pick in 2021 would include the Bears running the rest of the table. With three games left versus the Minnesota Vikings, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears could walk away with a season’s best 9-7 record.

The question remains if they will be able to win out, but winning two of the three is definitely a strong possibility. We are not dealing with absolutes here though and things can shift one way or another rather quickly.

With a 9-7 record, it is definitely possible the Chicago Bears make the playoffs. Right now the team is only one game behind the Arizona Cardinals. There are currently five teams below the Bears in regards to draft pick order who at the very worst could wind up 9-7 on the year. This is highly doubtful to happen, but let’s say that it does. Also, let’s say the Chicago Bears make the playoffs as the seventh seed.

Let’s also say they find a crazy way to win in the Wild Card round. Stranger things have happened. Do not forget the Giants were a 9-7 team when they beat the 11-3 New England Patriots in the Super Bowl back in 2011. Now, I am not saying the Chicago Bears have a shot at the Super Bowl, but getting into the playoffs means anything can happen.

If by some crazy shot the Chicago Bears sneak into the playoffs and win their first game (we will end it there), the team would likely end up with the 25th pick in the draft. Now, what if they collapse again?
