The Chicago Bears must move on from these six players in 2021
The Chicago Bears have some key players hitting free agency in 2021. None of them are as dynamic of a player as Allen Robinson. Locking Robinson up for $18 million dollars per season seems highly unlikely for a team that ranks in the bottom of the salary cap heading into 2021.
This unfortunately means the Bears will either franchise tag Robinson or they will let him test free agency. Should Robinson hit free agency, do not expect to see him back in Chicago unless his new team happens to be scheduled against the Bears on the road.
Robinson has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the second time in as many seasons. He has six touchdowns on the year too with three games left to play. Many would argue if he was on a less inept offense he would be a top-three wide receiver in the league. I am not sure I’d go that far, but he’s easily in the conversation of top-10 annually with an argument to be made for the top-five year in, year out.
Robinson would not show up on this list seeing the Chicago Bears likely cannot afford him. That is different than a player the team should just choose to move on from. Money is a factor, but some of these guys are just not performing well enough to earn another shot here in Chicago. Six names come to mind with only one having the ability to change minds over the final three weeks.
