What about the idea of Jameis Winston in a Chicago Bears uniform?

The last quarterback mentioned in this segment was Jameis Winston. I am still surprised that Winson had to take on a backup role this past offseason. I understand he can be careless with the ball, but he also puts up huge numbers too.

In his first two seasons with the Bucs, Winston threw for over 4,000 yards. He was on pace to do so in 2017 and 2018 as well but only played in 13 games in 2017 and only 11 in 2018. In 2019, he threw for over 5,000 yards. However, in 2020, he found himself backing up Drew Brees in New Orleans. Even worse, he was not chosen to start over Taysom Hill. That’s crazy to me.

The downfall for Winston has always been his recklessness with the football. Last year when he threw for over 5,000 yards, he led the league in yardage. However, he also led the league in interceptions as he finished the year with 30. Yikes.

When it comes to Winston, there is plenty of bad to go with the good and this is why he is not starting. That said, I would take a shot with him before I would Cam Newton. He would be my second choice to compete with a 2021 rookie. The segment had the Chicago Bears as the second likely spot behind the Broncos.
