The Chicago Bears must fire Chuck Pagano for one of these replacements

Kris Richard would also make a great candidate for the Chicago Bears
Another coaching candidate who is taking the season off of coaching, Kris Richard is a proven defensive coach in the NFL, specifically with his work with secondaries. Richard first started his career at USC with Pete Carroll back in 2008 as a graduate assistant. He then followed Carroll to the Seahawks.
Richard was a main part of the formation of the “Legion of Boom” that was formed in Seattle. The Legion of Boom consisted of multiple stars in their secondary such as Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Byron Maxwell, Brandon Browner, and Shaquill Griffin.
After the Seahawks lost in the Super Bowl in 2014-2015, Dan Quinn left for the Atlanta Falcons and Richard was promoted to defensive coordinator. In each of the three seasons he was defensive coordinator, the Seahawks were top fifteen in least amount of points allowed specifically ranking first in 2015.
Richard then went to the Dallas Cowboys as their defensive backs coach in 2018. He left after 2020 with the firing of Jason Garrett. He hasn’t had a job this season. He would be a solid candidate to at least interview given his pedigree with the Legion of Boom.
Final Thoughts:
The Bears need to move on from Pagano regardless. The clock is ticking on this aging Bears’ defense and they can’t waste their time with Pagano’s passive and weak scheme. They need to bring in someone with a clear and better scheme to help the Bears make a run for the Super Bowl.
