The Chicago Bears season depends on this final game

Week 17 is upon us. The Chicago Bears sit at 8-7 with their last game remaining against the Green Bay Packers. In reality, this season has felt like three seasons all pushed together into one due to the constant changing emotions surrounding the Bears right now.

To start the season, the Bears started 5-1. They had an impressive win over a good team in Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They were at one small point atop of the entire NFC. Bears’ fans and even NFL fans, in general, started respecting the Bears and saw them as a favorite.

Shortly after, the Bears went on a five-game skid. Their once-prominent team led by Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles and the Bears’ ferocious defense dropped six straight. Matt Nagy handed off his playcalling and Foles got benched all in hopes something would save this horrible team now dropping to 5-6.

Finally, the Bears started putting things together against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately, they didn’t come up on top, but the Bears’ offense seemed to figure things out. Since that loss, they have won three straight putting up four straight games of more than 30 points since 1965. On the other hand, the defense took a major step back as they allowed high-scoring games to the Lions and Vikings. They even struggled against Mike Glennon and the Jaguars early on as well.

Now here we are at Week 17. The Bears sit 8-7 facing the Green Bay Packers who themselves have said this is a playoff game for them. They won’t be holding back. The Bears control their own destiny. What happens in either scenario?
