Mitch Trubisky looks the same as the Chicago Bears offense has gotten better.

The Chicago Bears fan base needs a win this weekend. Otherwise, they will divide once again. So what do I mean by Mitch Trubisky is the same talent from the past? Many fans feel that Mitch Trubisky has greatly improved and deserves a new contract. Has Trubisky greatly improved, though?

In 14 games in 2018, Trubisky completed 66% of his passes for 3,200 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Trubisky regressed last season, but what quarterbacks don’t have a bad season? In nine games, Trubisky has completed 65% of his passes for 1,800 yards with 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

With an average of 200 passing yards per game and a quarterback rating of 95, Trubisky is playing pretty much the same he always has. Had he played a full season, Trubisky’s ending season numbers could be around 28 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions with 3,600 passing yards.

That’s pretty much what Mitch Trubisky is and always will be. That is enough to win games with the correct players around him yet never win because of him (minus a random game here and there). Now, the Chicago Bears should extend Mitch Trubisky. They also should draft a quarterback.

They do not need to draft one in the first round and might not have to in the second round, but they need to add some true youth to the quarterback room. Tyler Bray clearly doesn’t have enough pull to stay on the roster. Nick Foles can help mentor the next prospect while retaining his role as a backup.

Trubisky's most important game of his career. dark. Next

I might be out on Mac Jones early, but I am still on board with Kyle Trask, D’Eriq King, and Desmond Ridder. Feleipe Franks is a name that is starting to intrigue me too. But the more I like Franks, the more I question Trask, who is the reason for the success in Florida. We all need to band together and hope the Chicago Bears can fully control their own destiny by beating the Green Bay Packers. This scoring points thing is kind of cool, but the job is not finished.
