Eddie Jackson must step up for the Chicago Bears or they will be one and done

This is nothing against Eddie Jackson. He is an outstanding free safety and arguably one of the best in the NFL. Unfortunately for him, Chuck Pagano and his horrid scheme don’t play Jackson to his biggest strengths, so he doesn’t do as well.

This is the first season in Jackson’s career that he does not have an interception. He had 10 interceptions in his first three seasons and did not register one this season. He additionally has been a liability in coverage allowing a 115.2 passer rating when targeted. Jackson is a better player than that and we Bears’ fans of all people know that.

Jackson needs to step up in the playoffs. As Olin Kreutz said, he can say all the speeches he wants, but he needs to play up to his level on the field. He is getting paid a lot of money to be very poor this season and that needs to change.
