What should we expect as the Chicago Bears face the Saints in the playoffs?
After suffering six losses in a row, the Chicago Bears had a bounce-back by winning three of their last four games. They just slid into the playoffs and are now set to face the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
The Saint’s have been playing very well and just dominated the Vikings a week ago. Alvin Kamara had six of the Saints touchdowns on his own. He’s a name you always have to watch out for. The big three of Drew Brees, Kamara, and Michael Thomas will keep the Chicago Bears defense busy all game long. I’ve tried to write unbiased the whole year and I truly feel like I’ve done that.
I’m continuing with that, by saying that I think the Bears are going to pull this game out. It’s been an up-and-down year for the Bears but this is the team’s last chance with all this personnel. Mitch Trubisky is likely gone. Matt Nagy might be gone. Ryan Pace is most likely gone. This is the last chance this Bears team gets to show what they could do.
Here’s what I expect to happen!
Expectation No. 1: David Montgomery will have a strong performance
David Montgomery will finish with more than 125 yards per scrimmage and will also have two touchdowns. As I said before, I believe this will be a high scoring game. I think David Montgomery will continue to be a big factor in the offense. This isn’t a bold statement by any means. Instead, it’s just an obvious one.
David Montgomery has been averaging 137.3 yards a game during his last 6 contests. He has also had eight touchdowns in those six games played. He has been the workhorse for the Bears the second half of the year. The saints gave up averages of 5.3, 4.3, and 6.8 yards-per-carry against the Vikings, Cheifs, and Eagles. Expect the Bears to keep feeding Montgomery the rock!
