Round 3 Ι Pick No. 83 Ι Chicago Bears pick another offensive tackle

Oklahoma State. TevenJenkins. player. 856. Pick Analysis. OT. 83. Scouting Report

Teven Jenkins made a case for himself this season to be a top offensive tackle selected in the NFL Draft. Unfortunately for him, his case isn’t as strong in this extremely deep class. This is an advantage to the Bears though as Jenkins could be a starting offensive tackle found in the third round.

Jenkins is a monster at offensive tackle. He uses his unbelievable strength to maul opposing defenders in the run game. He absolutely bullies run defenders just on pure strength consistently. Although he can rely on just that strength, he doesn’t. With his three years of experience, he has solid technique to go with that brute strength. His issue is pass blocking technique though as he struggles with that.

This would be perfect for the Bears though as they can then start Leatherwood at left tackle and let Jenkins compete with Alex Bars for right tackle. If he isn’t ready yet, that is perfectly fine as Bars is a very capable starter with sound technique. He could be a great starter down the line with his potential.
