The Chicago Bears must find a way to bring back a happy Allen Robinson
As of right now, it is more likely that Allen Robinson is gone in 2021. However, this team needs Robinson to return to the roster and the fact he had not been paid yet is astounding. Robinson has made his frustrations known over and over again on social media and also in interviews.
Robinson has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL over the last two years. He has thrived in this offense like he never has before. Not even during his 14-touchdown performance with the Jaguars.
Since joining the Chicago Bears in 2018, Robinson has increased his catch percentage from 58.5% in 2018 to 63.6% in 2019 and then up to 67.5% this season. His catch rates the last two seasons are the highest he has had in his career.
With the Chicago Bears likely bringing back Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace, clearly, there will be some animosity from Allen Robinson towards the two — or least towards Pace. He was forced to play on an expiring contract once again and that is something he never wanted to see happen again since his knee injury in 2017.
Will Robinson follow the money or will he go after a team with a strong quarterback? He has flourished here in Chicago with Mitch Trubisky, but it seems that he’s not feeling this situation any longer. If I am Ryan Pace, I am doing whatever I can to keep him although the franchise tag would be my very last resort. The Chicago Bears need a happy Allen Robinson.
