The Chicago Bears must also bring back Alex Bars in 2021

Finally, the other name that I think is a must to bring back is Alex Bars. Bars proved this season that he can handle himself out there. Although I am not sure I would count on Bars to start next season, he is easily a great backup who has plenty of versatility.

Bars proved his versatility this season by playing left guard, right guard and eventually even right tackle. He played 568 snaps while drawing two penalties and only allowing one sack. With how poorly assembled the Bears offensive line was this season, the team must focus on bringing back good, developmental talent.

I was excited to see the development of fellow Notre Dame alum, Sam Mustipher this season. Both proved to be solid undrafted free agents for the Bears. If Mustipher can start at center next season, that would allow James Daniels and Cody Whitehair to play guard. Then, Ryan Pace (if he’s still here as rumored), must find a new left and right tackle in the 2021 NFL Draft and possibly also free agency. I like Bars, but I think he will be better suited as a backup.

Next. George McCaskey must make these decisions. dark
