Trade 2: The Chicago Bears send picks and a defensive star

Last year was a tough year for most. It was a down year for the Bears, and a down year for Eddie Jackson. But, I’ll tell you this: Jamal Adams had a better year than a lot of folks. He got the chance to go from the Jets to Seattle and play with Russell Wilson.

Sure, a Wild Card exit wasn’t the plan. But, his future sure looks brighter in Seattle than it did in New York.

Now, the Jets look to get another Pro Bowler at the safety position in a deal with the Bears. Jackson heads to the Jets in this trade, along with the Bears sending a slew of picks, of course.

Chicago will once again include this year’s first-round pick but also part with their third-rounder from 2021. That leaves them with only a pick in the second round before picking once again in the fifth. For that reason, the Jets include a fifth-round pick from this year. The Bears may be picking late with the majority of their picks, but they’ll be coming home with Fields or Wilson in the end.

The Jets also get Chicago’s first-round pick in 2022, making it a grand total of two firsts, a third and Jackson for the no. 2 overall pick and a fifth-rounder.
