1. Jonathan Gannon
Interestingly enough, Gannon was an assistant under Edwards from 2014-17. Gannon has specialized with the defensive backs, and that has been names such as Trae Waynes, Xavier Rhodes, and Harrison Smith. You have seen that secondary since he has left, too.
He moved on to Indianapolis, where he spent the 2018-2020 seasons. Gannon was actually hired to be in Josh McDaniels staff, but stayed with Frank Reich when he took the job.
The Colts have been able to get solid play from Julian Blackmon, and Xavier Rhodes followed Gannon to Indy an had a rejuvenated 2020 season.
It is clear his players like to play for him, and he has made the most out of mid round rookies. Gannon also would likely run a 4-3, and while that is a change, it is arguably needed.
His experience in the secondary, but understanding to change the front as well may be what the Chicago Bears need in their next defensive coordinator.
