Chicago Bears: Dream replacements for Charles Leno and Bobby Massie
A younger free-agent option for the Chicago Bears is Taylor Moton
If the Chicago Bears decide to keep Charles Leno, who although has had some rough seasons is not as bad as many Bears fans think, they could look to focus on right tackle in free agency instead. If this ends up being the plan of Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears, the team must still look to draft a future left tackle to take over for Charles Leno. In fact, I would allow any rookie to compete to unseat Leno on the left side if he sticks around.
Should the Chicago Bears go the right tackle route (something I wanted last season with Jack Conklin), they should look to sign Taylor Moton. Moton has played well for the Carolina Panthers and I am sure the Panthers will do whatever they can to keep him around. However, should he hit free agency, I am making Moton my priority if I am Ryan Pace.
Moton will cost far less than Trent Williams and slightly less than Alejandro Villanueva. He is also only 27 years old. Moton will cost the Chicago Bears $15 million per year and will likely need a four-year deal. Moton has improved every year and has not received a PFF grade under 70 since entering the league in 2017.
I do not expect the Bears to be able to find a replacement for both Leno and Bobby Massie in free agency for 2021. Therefore, here are a few names to look to in the 2021 NFL Draft.
