The Chicago Bears select a player 20th overall

The only way the Bears should sit at 20th overall is if their second or third-ranked offensive tackle falls to them. If that is the case, this makes Bobby Massie expendable and will save a lot of cap space by cutting him. Preferably, I would like Samuel Cosmi or Christian Darrisaw here as they both can develop into elite left tackles with their traits.

Another pick that would be okay here is Rashod Bateman. With Allen Robinson likely gone after this season, the Bears will need a new alpha wide receiver that can be the go-to target. Darnell Mooney could be that guy, but they still need a possession wide receiver that can do it all like Bateman to pair with Mooney.

It’s hard to gauge who the Bears value more for their team in terms of offensive tackle or wide receiver. My guess is if Robinson walks, the Bears will value an offensive tackle more. Why? Because then the Bears can cut Massie to free up more cap space to sign a decent wide receiver and additionally draft a wide receiver in the second or third that can develop into a great wide receiver.

But, what about a trade back?
