Chicago Bears: 5 questions Sean Desai must answer
3. How to get Eddie Jackson back to his playmaking ways?
No matter how you slice it, the 2020 season was not the way Eddie Jackson anticipated. With ten interceptions in three years, Jackson posted zero in year four. Sure, he had a few taken away by penalty. Still, missed tackles and a few blown coverages added to the poor season for Jackson.
You can blame Chuck Pagano if you want, but Jackson needs to get back into form. The question is how?
Is it a coincidence that Jackson had spent years with Adrian Amos, and was friends with HaHa Clinton-Dix as well? Now, he does not know or trust Tashaun Gipson as much and the chemistry Is not the same. That could be, and so could his usage. He is in the box more with Pagano than Fangio.
Whatever it is, Dessai needs to recognize it. Dessai has been working with Jackson in the back end for years, and his promotion should mean that guys like Jackson are the true winners.
